Dear Friends!

I'm writing this newsletter from my hotel room in Seattle, Washington where I've been spending the last few days with 20 other women who are part of The Elite Blog Academy Private Mastermind Program.

It has been wonderful to be with a group of inspiring and brilliant women who are all dedicated to making their business thrive and grow in the coming year. It's really got me pumped to create more great content for you all geared to helping you get out of debt and tackle your home!

But, first we have to get through the holiday season and Thanksgiving is next week!  I for one don't know where the heck the time went.  It seems like it was just summer and I was watching the men install our new pool.

But it's not summer anymore and Thanksgiving will be here in a few short days.

I truly enjoy Thanksgiving – it’s my favorite holiday. Why? No presents, no expectations – just a gathering of family and friends to celebrate all the blessings in our lives. Sure, there’s lot’s of preparation, but that can be joyful too, when shared and viewed from the right perspective. We gather around a sumptuous meal and a beautiful table and enjoy turkey, sweet potatoes, corn casserole, pumpkin pie and my special apple cake.

The conversation is always pleasant and enjoyable and most years we end the evening roasting chestnuts and playing Apples to Apples.

This week is going to be super busy for folks.  Lots of you will be traveling near and far to be with loved ones.  Some of you will be hosting your own Thanksgiving Feast while others will be lucky enough to have invite somewhere special. Others may be alone or feel lonely because loved ones won't be with them this year - I know I'll be missing my mom and dad for sure.

Whatever you do, where ever you go please know how grateful I am to you for being on this journey with me and sharing your comments, emails, and interactions.

I do it for one reason and one reason only - you!  And, I'm grateful to be able to provide to you what you need when you need it.  And so today I'm gifting to you all a set of Free Printables just in time for Thanksgiving.  No email is required to receive them, just go to this post and download your free set!

A Few Thoughts on Gratitude

When we are open to gratitude, we see clearly and perfectly how much good, there is in our life. Gratitude affirms that very fact.

We will always be faced with challenges in our lives. Life provides the ebb and the flow no matter how much we try to resist it. There is no limit to what we don’t have, and if we focus on the lack in our lives, we will inevitably be filled with an abundant amount of pain and dissatisfaction. But when we can look at our lives, businesses, and family situations with a focus on what is right, we experience gratitude.

Like other attitudes, gratitude can be cultivated. We don’t have to wait for our fairy godmother to shower us with presents to feel thankful. We can develop gratitude by reflecting on the gifts that we already have. Gratitude is the memory of our own heart I once heard someone say. It is, therefore, an expression of love and abiding friendship which transforms itself into deed.

I try to cultivate gratitude every day and when I feel it – when I am grateful for my body and mind, for the world in which I live, for my family and friends, for my business – I know that my spiritual path is in order. When I don’t feel it, I understand that I am off, and I try to right myself.

Gratitude is profound – it takes us to the edge and beyond.

I'm so very grateful to you, my wonderful readers.  Thank you so much for visiting with me each day.   I look forward to continuing to serve you through my writing and hope to provide you exactly what you need when you need it the most.

Abundant blessings to you and wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Maureen

I love Thanksgiving.  It is without a doubt my favorite holiday in part because no gift giving need occur.

It's a time to focus on family, love, friendship and the less tangible, but important things in our lives.

I host Thanksgiving each year, and my guest is a collection of family and friends.  Some friends have left the area and no longer join us in our celebration, while others come and go throughout the years depending on where they are currently living or traveling to or from.

It doesn't matter, as all friends and family know there is always plenty of room at my holiday table.
