Thank you for joining us

to celebrate the memory of the
Abraham Lincoln Brigade
and the work of
Proactiva Open Arms

Easter Sunday was a beautiful celebration at the Museum of the City of New York. We raised our voices in song and marked the 81st Anniversary of the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. We honored the important work of Proactiva Open Arms with the seventh annual ALBA/Puffin Award for Human Rights Activism, as well as the legacy of the Lincoln volunteers and their enduring example in the fight against fascism.
The ALBA/Puffin Award for Human Rights Activism connects the legacy of the Lincoln Brigade with contemporary causes and includes a $100,000 prize to support the ongoing work of the recipient.  The award is provided through an endowed fund made possible through the generosity of the Puffin Foundation.

"We are not facing a refugee crisis
but a crisis of human values."

Gerard Canals,
Chief of Operations, Proactiva Open Arms
