President Obama just took a stand. Have you?

PETITION: Stand with President Obama against voter suppression →

Republican legislatures in three states have proposed a series of restrictive new voter ID laws that disproportionately hurt minority voters.

But yesterday, President Obama backed a court order to BLOCK these new requirements and keep voting accessible for EVERY American.

Sign your name to stand with President Obama against these onerous restrictions that rob Americans of their fundamental right to vote:

Friends,

Voting rights in this country are under constant right-wing attack.

Most recently, Republican legislatures in Kansas, Alabama, and Georgia tried to impose a proof of citizenship requirement before registering to vote.

Doing so would disqualify millions of Americans -- mostly low income, minorities, and the elderly -- who don’t have the requisite paperwork from voting on Election Day.

Thankfully, President Obama stepped in and backed the court’s decision to block these undemocratic laws.

SIGN YOUR NAME: Join President Obama and stand against laws that strip Americans of their voting rights →

The problem doesn’t end there though.

Across the country, state legislatures (mostly Republican) are eliminating things like early voting or mail-in ballots, while pushing for new regulations that would impose MORE barriers to the polls.

And since the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act in 2013, it’s only gotten worse.

Friends, that’s why it’s imperative we stand with President Obama today and establish a precedent that will protect our democratic process.
