Take our 1-minute Supreme Court Nomination Survey >>

It’s been nearly a MONTH since President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to fill the vacant seat on the Supreme Court.

And yet, Republicans in the Senate continue to do everything they can to BLOCK Garland’s confirmation and debase the President’s authority.

Please take our short survey to let us know what you think about the GOP’s obstructionism:

Friends, before President Obama even announced his nominee to replace Justice Scalia, Republicans had already vowed to block him at every turn.

Now, it’s been nearly a month since President Obama nominated Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court -- and Senate Republican leaders continue to refuse even discussing the confirmation of the next Justice until the next President is sworn in.

Not only is this a DIRECT rejection of their Constitutional responsibilities, but Senate Republicans are dangerously politicizing our Judicial Branch by holding the Supreme Court hostage for their own political advantage.

President Obama has made his position clear: He’s frustrated by the ongoing obstruction, and has called out GOP leaders for “not even show[ing] the courtesy of meeting with the judge.”[1]

But today, we need to hear where you stand:

Take our survey: Are you frustrated by Republicans lack of respect for President Obama’s Supreme Court nomination?

Besides ignoring their constitutional duty, Republicans are demonstrating extreme hypocrisy:

GOP Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) bluntly told the press that if Mitt Romney were the one in the White House instead of President Obama, it would be “a different situation.”[2]

This directly exposes the fraudulent GOP argument that a President of either party should not be able to nominate a Justice in an election year.

And furthermore, Senate Democrats upheld their responsibilities when the roles were reversed: a Democratic Senate held hearings for President Reagan’s Supreme Court Nominee in his final year of his last term.

According to national polls, a majority of Americans (both Republicans AND Democrats alike!) disagree with this obstruction.[3]

The Senate Republicans’ obstructionism isn’t only hypocritical -- it’s just wrong.

So as we work toward pressuring Senate Republicans to do their jobs and hold a Supreme Court nominee confirmation hearing, we need to hear from you about where you stand.
