Michelle's race

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friends, the last thing we need in this country is more failed GOP policies.

New Mexicans have dealt with them for years under a Republican Governor. And now, under President Trump, we're seeing the danger they can pose on the national level.

That's why I'm so excited my colleague Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham is running to be the next Democratic Governor of New Mexico.

Michelle couldn't be running at a more important moment. There are 38 governors' seats on the ballot between now and 2018. I'll always be prepared to fight in Congress, but we need Democratic Governors like Michelle in the states, especially with redistricting right around the corner.

But here's the problem: Tomorrow is Michelle's first public fundraising deadline, and she's falling short of her $125,000 online goal. With just hours to go, she's counting on all of us – and that means you – to give everything we can right now:

Will you donate $5 or more right now, please, to turn New Mexico blue with a Democratic Governor and defend our progress against the Trump administration?

Republicans may control the House, Senate and White House, but they don't control you or me. We can still choose to put the people we care about first, and that means standing with Michelle in her fight to turn New Mexico blue.

Michelle is more than prepared to be a check on Trump's radical agenda: She's been opposing his hatred for years, fighting for vulnerable women and children long before Trump's team ever cooked up their heartless attacks on families.

As I like to say, when women succeed, America succeeds – so join me now to help this incredible woman succeed and fight for every New Mexican as Governor.

Give $5 or more now – before Michelle's big April 3 deadline – to elect more Democratic Governors and stand up to President Trump's radical agenda.

Thank you,
Nancy Pelosi
