October is #RVAM - Relationship Violence Awareness Month
Shine the Light in Harlem on Oct 26: Get some friends together and join the Domestic Violence Awareness Walk and Speak Out on Monday, October 26th, 5:30pm. We will be gathering for the “Shine the Light Walk” in front of the Harlem Independent Living Center at 289 St. Nicholas Avenue (between 124th and 125th streets) at 5:15pm. Purple Fleece Scarf Making Crafternoon:
Join us along with SVR, Disability Services and SHAG for a Friday afternoon of making purple fleece scarves. You can make one for yourself, a loved one or to donate to a domestic abuse shelter. Stop by Bard Hall lobby at any point between 2-4:30pm on Friday, October 30.

MHS Launches a Skills Group for Managing Eating & Emotions
Mental Health Services (MHS) is launching short-term skills-based group that focuses on strategies and coping tools to manage feelings that underlie food and body image struggles. Find out more here

Join the MHS Balance Skills Group
MHS offers a skills-based group that focuses on developing tools for managing stress, including mindfulness, limit-setting and grounding.  The group meets once a week (either Tues 9-10 am or Fri 3-4 pm) and runs for about ten sessions.  New cycles are beginning the week of October 27th. Intersecting Identities: Issues in Healthcare for Queer Women of Color

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the State University of New York at Downstate Medical School are pleased to host a panel discussion on the intersectionality of identities in healthcare, with a particular focus on queer women of color. When are they?
Effective Monday, October 5th, we will no longer have designated walk-in hours. Instead, we encourage you to email us to set up a Wellness Appointment. Of course, if you stop by and our door is open and we have the time in our schedule, we would be happy to meet with you.

Registration for the Fall 2015 Pilates & Yoga Program is still open!
