HUGE name added for 2017 anniversary celebration!

PLUS: Jo Koy returns in June

The DC Improv

1140 Connecticut Ave. NW, WDC 20036

Twitter Facebook

The Improv turns 25 next year, and we're hoping to celebrate in a big way every chance we can get. Well, the party is getting started with this special message ...

When we say we're announcing a huge name, we mean it literally and figuratively. On February 12, for one night only, we'll have shows with Mike Birbiglia. He's part of DC Improv history -- when Mike was in college at Georgetown, he worked as an Improv door guy. He has gone on to amazing things (including the critically acclaimed movie "Don't Think Twice" this year), and it is a great treat for us to have him back on our stage. Scroll down and look for the big picture of Mike to get your tickets.

If you're an advance planner we have also announced a shorter name that's just as big. Jo Koy returns to the club in June. Info is below.

And while 2017 will be great, 2016 ain't over yet. You can see Christina Pazsitzky tonight or tomorrow.

NEW SHOWS: Mike Birbiglia (2/12), Ms. Pat (4/6), Big Jay Oakerson (4/27), Craig Robinson (5/18), Michael Blackson (5/25), Jo Koy (6/2)

Christina Pazsitzky: December 9-10

Christina has been busy since we last saw her in early 2015. She's still podcasting on both "Your Mom's House" (with husband Tom Segura) and "That's Deep Bro." She narrated the acclaimed documentary "Can We Take a Joke?" And she also found the time to become a mom. She's billing her fall shows as the "Main Mother Goddess" tour and we can't wait to see what she's got in store for us. Only four shows, so get on board while you can ...

Hypnotist Flip Orley: December 15-18

No two Flip Orley shows are the same, which is why he's been a DC Improv favorite since the 1990s. Flip uses hypnosis to turn audience members into the stars of the show. He leads volunteers through twisted scenarios, getting reactions that are almost beyond belief – and he does it all without humiliating anyone. Whether you’re on stage or watching from the audience, Flip’s show is unforgettable. And no, we weren’t hypnotized into writing this.

Mike Birbiglia's Working It Out: February 12

We're thrilled to announce these special shows as part of our yearlong 25th anniversary celebration!

Fresh off his recent hit show, “Thank God for Jokes,” that toured 100 cities, ran off-Broadway for 4 months, and was nominated for the Lucille Lortel award, Mike Birbiglia will be making some rare club appearances in 2016 and 2017. Birbiglia is underway on an all-new hour of comedy. In his own words, “I’ve never been more excited about standup in my whole career. These shows will be a blend of entirely new material, improvisation, and a few stories from ‘Thank God for Jokes.’ These shows are raw, semi-improvised, unfinished. As rough as it might be, I promise that my heart will be in it and sometimes my writing has to catch up to my heart. That said, they will be FUN. And FUNNY.”

Showtimes: 7 and 9:30

Jo Koy: June 2-4

We've got ANOTHER big star coming back in 2017 ...

Jo Koy’s rise through the comedy ranks has been nothing short of spectacular. Starting out in Las Vegas, he earned a spot on “The Tonight Show,” then took off like a rocket. He was one of the most-loved panelists on “Chelsea Lately,” his Comedy Central specials wowed millions of people, and his tours have brought him to clubs and theaters around the world. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we’re thrilled to have him on our schedule once again.
