PLUS: Frank Caliendo in one month

Improv 25

The weather is headed south the next three days, which is the universe's way of telling you to have fun indoors. What an amazing coincidence that we have Tom Papa here those three days! We swear to you Tom has no magic powers and is not responsible for the weather.

Also, an early happy Mothers Day to all the moms. You can't get through motherhood without laughter, so we appreciate you, ladies.

Next week we're pretty much sold out ... so it's time to start looking ahead. Check below for news on added shows for Michael Blackson and Jo Koy.

Stand-Up Graduation this Sunday: All the colleges are about to graduate, but we think our commencement ceremonies are a LOT more entertaining. This Sunday night (May 14) you can see the latest graduates of our "Five Minutes to Funny" stand-up class hit the Improv stage to show what they learned. Grad shows are a lot of fun, and the admission is only $10 ...

Jo Koy update: Jo Koy sold out all his shows for August 11-12, so he opted to add a 6:30 show on Sunday, August 13. Tickets now on sale ... go get 'em!

New Podcast: If you like puns, don't be ashamed. Go listen to our latest DC Improv podcast, which includes some audio from our latest Beltway Pundits event on May 2.

New Classes: Level 2 Improv (7/9), Beginning Improv (7/10), Beginning Improv (7/15)

Low Ticket Warning: Want to know which shows are running out of tickets? Check today's update on our blog.

Tom Papa: May 11-13

PLEASE NOTE: The Saturday 7:30 show is sold out.

One of stand-up comedy's best returns to the Improv stage this week. Tom has fantastic material and flawless delivery; he's a favorite opening act of Jerry Seinfeld, and we love having him at the club each year. Just go watch his online clips (the link is below) and you'll see what we mean. Yeah, it's Mothers Day weekend ... but trust us, you want to come to Papa.

ComedySportz improv: May 13

Kids are the cause of Mothers Day, so it's probably not the worst idea to get them involved in the weekend festivities. The 7:30 show in our lounge on Saturday night is "all ages," so you can bring 'em out to enjoy some improv comedy from ComedySportz. The all-ages shows are interactive, clean, and a lot of fun.

You can also catch the improvisers doing their thing at 9:45 for our "Late Night Improv" show. It's ages 18 and up, and there aren't any restrictions on the content. So if you like your improv comedy with a little more sass, the Blue Show is the way to go.

Michael Blackson: May 25-28

"Unforgettable" is an overused word, but you definitely can't forget Michael. "The African King of Comedy" was born in Ghana, got his start in the comedy clubs of Philadelphia, and became a breakout star thanks to his performance in the movie “Next Friday.” His sketch comedy and stand-up routines have been crushing audiences for years.

The original six shows are already sold out. We have added shows for Thursday 9:30 and Sunday 9:00. Please follow the Facebook event for the latest updates.
