We've got a busy October on the way, with lots of great headliners and a bunch of lower-cost local shows. (We have $10 options this Wednesday through Friday, plus $15 shows in our big room this Friday, for example.) Let's get to it ....
THIS WEEK: We could all use a laugh this week, and the Improv has SEVEN different comedy events on the schedule. Even better, five of those events have tickets $15 or less. You can see a roast (Wednesday), short-form improv (Thursday), the Super Bowl of local comedy (Friday) and a Daily Show correspondent (Saturday-Sunday). Without further ado ...
Comedy Kumite is an 8-person stand-up tournament that we hold every few months. This Friday, we're bringing past winners back for a Tournament of Champions. It's the best of the best ... which means good times are almost guaranteed.
Your competitors: Cerrome Russell, Wendy Wroblewski, Pat Riley, Dylan Meyer, Tim Miller, Benjy Himmelfarb, Ross Benoit and Tommy Sinbazo.
Dave loves comedy clubs, and comedy clubs love Dave. He's one of the best club acts of all time, drawing a loyal army of fans for more than 20 years. His show is raunchy, fast-paced and fun ... and it's always packed. Three of these shows are already sold out, so get tickets for Friday 7:30 and Sunday 7:30 while you can ...
DC Science Comedy has been producing shows around DC for a few years, and always with a science flair -- the comics they choose always have a brainy background. Matthew has a degree in applied math, and he spent some time as a financial analyst. We promise, his comedy adds up.
Another DC Improv favorite is on the radar. Adam has had a lot of success with TV, with starring roles on "Top Gear," "Nurse Jackie," "Rescue Me" and more. We still like him best on a stand-up stage. He's a great performer with a blue-collar vibe.
