The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the president’s healthcare law mandating everyone has access to tax subsidies.

The 6-to-3 decision deemed subsidies can continue to be made available to people around the country who need to buy healthcare, instead of just in the states with individual exchanges. Some insurers had been hunkering down for an educational push if the court ruled against Obamacare.

While many Democrats were elated by the decision, Republicans were quick to criticize it. Sen. Marco Rubio, who is running for the GOP’s presidential nomination, dismissed Obamacare as “a bad law,” while fellow contender Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) reiterated his intention to repeal it.

In other news:

  • Some Republicans don’t want dietary guidelines meddling in environmental efforts.
  • Nike’s Phil Knight announces $1 billion for Oregon Health and Science University.
  • Meningitis B vaccines up to “individual decisions” by young people, not “routine recommendations.”
