Welcome to PRWeek's Weekender newsletter, which catches you up on everything you missed during the week, gives you a few long reads for the weekend, and highlights the biggest trends in the communications industry over the past seven days. Enjoy your weekend!

The one thing on seemingly every marketer’s mind this week was Cannes, and PRWeek had you covered. Check out our special section on the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for all the biggest PR news from the South of France.

In terms of PR agencies, MSLGroup was the big winner, taking home the PR Grand Prix for its work on Always’ #LikeAGirl campaign. FleishmanHillard and Edelman, both of which have past Grand Prix trophies of their own, were also multiple winners.

So how does a firm win a Cannes Lion? PR Chair of Judges Lynne Anne Davis has some advice for agencies looking to throw their campaigns into the ring in the future. Meanwhile, Ketchum’s Barri Friedman Rafferty has some advice for young PR pros at Cannes.
