PRWeek and Campaign celebrated the best work in branded films, from gut-busters to tear-jerkers, at the second-annual Brand Film Festival New York on Thursday. Best of the Best award winners included BMW, Qualcomm, and Brand U.S.A. Oscar winner Armando Bo talked about what he likes and doesn’t like about making films for marketers (and his favorite color). The minds behind BMW’s legendary The Escape film series also spilled secrets about their work with Clive Owen and the real star of the series, the automobile.

Expect more firms to devote resources towards making content like branded films, notes PRWeek editor-in-chief Steve Barrett. Speaking of the bottom line, this week also marked the release of the 2017 Agency Business Report, including rankings tables, in-depth features, infographics, and agency profiles.

And PRWeek's Global Awards are slated for next Thursday in London.
