US Weekender | August 29th 2015
Welcome to PRWeek's Weekender newsletter, which catches you up on everything you missed during the week, gives you a few long reads for the weekend, and highlights the biggest trends in the communications industry over the past seven days. Enjoy your weekend!

Sex is a $30 billion business in the US, and like any other industry, it employs and relies on marketing, advertising, and public relations; contrary to popular belief, sex doesn't always sell.

So how do you market to consumers who jump to conclusions about what they'll find at The Museum of Sex or are too shy to engage with a sex toy brand online? And just how will online trends shape views on the porn, adult toy, dating app, and entertainment industries? You'll find an in-depth exploration of these topics, and more, in our September Sex Issue, which is online now.

And if sex is worth $30 billion, the fact Major League Baseball has been valued at around $36 billion by Forbes is a testament to its status as America's national pastime. PRWeek recently took a field trip to Yankee Stadium to learn what Yankees PR manager Jason Zillo does during game day, and to record (and Periscope) our weekly podcast with special guest Matt Neale, Golin's president EMEA and New York co-president.
