Welcome to PRWeek's Weekender newsletter, which catches you up on everything you missed during the week, gives you a few long reads for the weekend, and highlights the biggest trends in the communications industry over the past seven days. Enjoy your weekend!

This week, it was the Democrats’ turn to take the national stage: frontrunner Hillary Clinton and populist favorite Bernie Sanders were joined at a CNN-hosted debate by Lincoln Chafee, Martin O’Malley, and Jim Webb. In the wake of the debate, with no major mistakes or missteps from any of the candidates, some pundits questioned whether the door was now shut on any chance of Joe Biden throwing his hat into the ring – a theory one of his closest advisers dismissed.

MSLGroup moved to turn the page on its long-running gender discrimination lawsuit, announcing on Wednesday that it had reached a proposed settlement with plaintiffs valued at nearly $2.9 million. The settlement would let MSLGroup close the case without admitting any wrongdoing or discrimination.
