PRWeek set up the Hall of Fame in 2013 to recognize those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to communications.

The individuals honored are chosen based on their achievements in the following areas: outstanding contribution to the development of the communications industry and the establishment of the PR profession; significant impact on the PR field beyond their organization; recruiting and mentoring a generation of comms professionals; contributing thought leadership that shaped the profession or redefined the field; and leadership of the organizations that unify and drive the profession's development.

The third group of inductees will be recognized at a celebratory dinner to be held in New York City on the evening of Monday, December 7. Inductees include Mike Fernandez, corporate VP, corporate affairs of Cargill; David Finn, co-founder of Ruder Finn; Joele Frank, managing partner of Joele Frank, Wilkinson, Brimmer, Katcher; Ginger Hardage, SVP, culture & communications, Southwest Airlines; Betsy Plank, former director of PR planning, AT&T, director of external affairs, Illinois Bell; and Gary Sheffer, former VP, corporate communications & public affairs of GE.

The call for entries for PRWeek Student of the Year 2016 is now open! It's one of the best avenues and opportunities for students to kick-start their PR careers.

The PRWeek Student of the Year competition is a fantastic opportunity for students to make a name for themselves in the PR industry, as well as showcase their work to the best in the business. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and be rewarded with a trip to the annual PRWeek Awards in New York in March 2016.
