2018 PEN Ackerley Prize

Come and hear the shortlisted authors read from and discuss their work with chair of judges Parker, before the winner of the 2018 prize is announced. The PEN Ackerley Prize is awarded to a literary autobiography of excellence, written by a British author and published during the preceding year. It is the only UK prize dedicated solely to memoir. Directed by the award-winning Josette Bushell-Mingo, with readings of original letters written by Nelson Mandela during his time in prison from guests including Gary Younge, Jackie Kay, Zoe Wicomb, Jay Bernard, Kwame Kwei-Armah, Errollyn Wallen, Zamaswazi Dlamini-Mandela, and Sahm Venter.
