FRA Trail Closure

Construction progress is being made on three new trail segments. The final segment to be improved will be the trail around the top of Milavec Lake at Frederick Recreation Area. This work will require the trail to be closed to the public during the month of December. Should snowy weather move in the work will continue into January. We appreciate your patience as we improve this well-used trail!

Election Dates to Remember

There will be a regular municipal election on April 3, 2018. There will be three available trustee spots up for election next year and if you're interested in running, we have some important dates for you. Running in the Right Direction, an informational meeting for interested potential board candidates, will take place at Town Hall next Wednesday, December 6th at 5:30 p.m. Nomination packets will be available for pickup at Town Hall beginning January 2, 2018 and must be turned into Town Hall by January 22, 2018 at 5 p.m. Town Hall is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Electric Update

The Town is still moving through the long process of evaluating the possibility of expanding the electric utility to include the entire area within the town boundaries. A valuation has been completed and the pro forma is in process. If an expansion were to occur, it would be based on the successful evaluation of three factors: can we provide affordable rates, can we provide reliable power and can we provide great customer service? If you're looking for background on this potential expansion as well as an update of where we currently are in the process, check out our website

Congrats, Commander Dave Egan!

Frederick Police Chief Todd Norris promoted one of Frederick's sergeants, Dave Egan to Commander earlier this month. This fills the vacancy left by Norris when he was appointed as the new chief in August. Commander Egan has been with the department since August of 1996 and has overseen all areas of the department including patrol, investigations, code enforcement, school resource officers and training. Congratulations, Commander Egan!
Just a reminder this Saturday, December 2nd is the Festival of Lights! Make sure you come out to help ring in the season with your friends, family and neighbors!
