Thank YOU from the Global Health Institute

Dear Friend,
In this season of giving thanks, I want to thank you for your commitment to global health for all—humans, animals, and ecosystems. Your interest, enthusiasm, and support inspire our work at the UW-Madison Global Health Institute (GHI), and we are sincerely grateful.
We are thankful for our collaborators: researchers, educators, and students from across campus working to advance health and well-being for all. From hunting new viruses to ending TB in Tibetan children, from helping cities quantify the benefits of encouraging biking and walking to championing women in science, our community works on the front lines of today’s challenges.
Our global health education programs are reaching hundreds of learners—spanning the spectrum from rural high school students who have attended the High School Global Health Day to health professions students in the Graduate | Professional | Capstone Certificate in Global Health program to the 100+ participants from around the world who have attended the annual Quality Improvement Leadership Institute.
Watch our video to hear from some of our students and what makes them grateful.
Thank you for your understanding that the global in global health isn’t limited to people and places afar. We work to improve well-being for all in Wisconsin and around the world. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read our new Director’s Report, “Strength in Connection” and be inspired by our stories and learn more about the difference we can make when we work together. Global health, truly, takes all of us.
Thank YOU!
Jonathan Patz, M.D., MPH,
Director, Global Health Institute
John P. Holton Chair in Health and the Environment
