Could a Lifetime Mortgage work for you?

If you’re aged 60 or over and own your home worth at least 100,000 (or 150,000 for ex-local authority), you could qualify for a Legal & General Lifetime Mortgage.

A lifetime mortgage lets you release some of the equity tied up in your home as a tax-free cash lump sum to spend on anything you want or need. You continue to own, and live in, your home and you won’t have to make any repayments during the lifetime of the loan. The loan and the interest are repaid in full from the sale of the property when you die or move into long-term care.

You should consider other options as there may be more cost effective ways to borrow money. We offer competitive rates for our Lifetime Mortgage product range. Our Flexible Lifetime Mortgage is 3.92% monthly (3.99% AER) fixed as at 26 October 2016. There are other products and rates available. Why not find out more?

It’s a big decision but you’re not alone

You can only get a lifetime mortgage through a specialist lifetime mortgage adviser. They can help you understand the potential benefits as well as the risks involved.

A lifetime mortgage creates a debt on your home. It’s important to know that we charge interest on the total loan amount plus any interest already charged. The amount you owe grows quickly and reduces the equity left in the property. A lifetime mortgage will reduce any inheritance and may affect your entitlement to State Benefits.

You could talk to your own financial adviser or we can put you in touch with a specialist from The Retirement Lending Advisers. They are a separate company who only advise on our Lifetime Mortgages and you won’t pay an upfront fee for their advice.
