Character and reputation

Gets Women To Do Naughty, Impulsive Things:
>> Women will get dirty with you, too!

Hey Guys—

John Wooden was one of the great winners in American sports history.

He won TEN NCAA titles at UCLA, including a remarkable seven in a
row.  He is justly quoted, and quoted often, and this is one of
his most popular quotes:

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because

your character is what you really are, while your reputation is
merely what others think you are.

As part of an unusual experiment in male-female relations, sexy

this free experiment before it closes, go here now:

I am, however, going to disagree with Coach Wooden here.  The above

statement is inaccurate because it diminishes the importance of
reputation, one of Robert Green’s 48 Laws of Power, and one of
the few laws to which there is no reversal to.

You can have the best character in the world, but if you don’t take

care of your own recommendation, others with lesser characters will
assassinate yours for their own gain.  You have to build and protect
your reputation at all costs—what others think you are IS vitally
important.

If you aspire to success, you have to influence those people you

will never meet in person, and reputation is a vitally important
way to do that.  If you are a man of high character, but men of
low character seek to destroy your reputation, all you will have
is your character—and you can’t pay the bills with merely that.

That is not to demean the importance of character.  It IS vital,

but if only you know about it, it is irrelevant.  You want a strong
character AND a strong reputation.  While you can develop character
on your own, you must defend and craft your reputation.

The more successful you are, the more enemies you will have.  And

as we have seen in the recent political campaigns, those enemies
will stop at nothing to demean and destroy the reputation of those
who might have otherwise great characters.  This happens even in
small social circles where the ever present emotions of envy and
jealousy are rampant.

If, for example, you show up with a very sexy woman as your

girlfriend, some men of high character will praise you for it,
thinking “I’ve got to get a girlfriend like that.”  But men of
low character will try to damage your reputation with her because
they think, “I’ve got to have her, and I’ve got to bring him down
to get her.”

Reputation and prestige go hand in hand, and prestige is a powerful

ally.  It can be gained with competence, competence, and character.
But it can also leave you in an instant, and when it does, everything
leaves with it.  Yes, you may retain your character, but high
character, an ex girlfriend and a light wallet are no way to go
through life.

So pay attention to both equally. Work on your character internally,

but craft and fight for your reputation externally.  The man with
high character and a great reputation is the man who succeeds.
Be that man.
