Hey Guys—

In case you haven’t seen it, there is an article going around about
a freshman orientation class at Gettysburg college decrying “toxic

You can read it here, but the summation is simply that everything
you’ve ever thought or been taught about what is MANLY, is bad, m’kay:

The worst part of the article is where it warns that the phrase
“be a man” is harmful to boys because it teaches them to do all
sorts of vile things in the name of being a man.

We are seeing more and more of this disgusting nonsense and academia,
and a part of me is beginning to wonder is this is somehow tied in
to not-a-real-man John Podesta’s reprehensible email where he
talked about creating a “compliant and unaware citizenry.”  The
best way to do that is to wring every manly trait possible out of
boys, turning them into girlie-males.

This stupidity must be addressed head on, so let’s talk about what
it means to “be a man” and what it does not mean.

In the article, the girlie-male teaching the class says “be a man”
incites males to commit violent acts.  But that is the very antithesis
of being a man.  That is called being a criminal and is the polar
opposite of being a man.

A real man controls his actions, emotions, and behaviors.  He defends
his wife, his girlfriend, his kids.  He provides and protects.
He takes the slings and arrows for them.  He never starts fights
but he finishes them.  Like Reagan and Trump he believes in peace
through strength.

He reads, he learns, he studies and he makes himself AWARE.  He
has no tolerance for those who wish to be compensated without
delivering requisite value. He believes in law and order. He
serves his country, hoping he never hears a shot fired in anger.

He is ambitious and wants to achieve, but not at the expense of
others—he wants to achieve by delivering value to others.  He also
lives in reality, and while he strives for win-win, he knows at
times things are win-lose…and he intends to be the winner.

He does his part to create prosperity, to be a good citizen, and to
pass his experience and knowledge onto boys who will also grow up
into men.  He loves to have a good time, he loves women, and he
makes no apologies for his desires as real man.  But he suffers no
fools, and not only defends attacks against his manliness, he
turns that defense into a counter offensive.

In True Detective Season 1, Marty Hart turns to Rustin Cohle and
asks, “Do you ever wonder if you’re a bad man, Rust?”  Without
missing a beat Cohle says, “The world needs bad men Marty, we keep
the other bad men from the door.”

And so it is true.  The world does need MEN, men who will keep the
girlie males, and those who lust for power from the door.  We are
non-compliant, and we are very, very aware.
