A few weeks ago I
heard from a friend regarding a mutual acquaintance who was whining about his marriage gone bad.
While this guy whines a lot (hence my hearing about him
through a friend, not directly), in this
particular instance his whining was about his
wife accepting a “percentage” of responsibility for their
relationship gone bad.
Apparently he was obsessed with this saying he wouldn’t rest until
she accepted “at least 50% of the
blame.” And this guy wonders why his
marriage went bad.

It had no chance from
the beginning because his view of the world is that
his outcomes are other people’s faults. He strongly believes in victims, especially when it comes to himself, not
knowing that belief is, at its core, repellant to
Werner Earhardt was
strongly criticized by the media during the heyday
of est (and afterwards, as well) by teaching the philosophy of “it’s all your fault.” While there is
much to criticize (and admire) about Werner, in
this case he “got it” (you guys in the know
“get” that joke…because you know when you got it, since
there’s nothing to get…got it?). The media
criticized because that position is contrary
to their girlie man beliefs, that the world
is full of victims and all that is needed is social justice (enforced by whom(?), but no one ever asks THAT
The philosophy of
“it’s all your fault” is not a literal philosophy,
it is more of a “figuratively practical
one.” If, for example, you get mugged, are you a
victim or is it your fault?
The squealing girlie
man says you are clearly a victim, and others are to
blame for the mugger’s bad childhood, low self esteem, lack
of hugs, too many micro-aggressions, no participation
But the man with the
“it’s all my fault” philosophy analyzes the situation, looks for ways he could have avoided it, then applies
those in the future to avoid muggings. The useful
idea of “it’s all your fault” is it
allows you to make better decisions in the future
when something bad goes your way. If it’s your fault, you
want to know why, and usually you will discover a few
things (such as taking a shortcut through an alley at midnight
is a bad idea) you could have done that would have prevented
This is especially useful when dealing with women
in every capacity. If you go out on a date with a woman
you really like and she disappears on your
afterwards, are you a victim or is it your
fault? The victim keeps doing the same thing, getting the same rejection, the man who accepts fault analyzes why it went
wrong and adjusts.
The important thing to understand about the “it’s all your
fault” philosophy is it does not
preclude things from going wrong. In fact,
the more things you do in life, the more “bad” things will
happen that are, clearly, your fault. But when
you analyze them, you will see things that
will minimize (not eliminate) adverse events
in the future, allowing you to get much better results.
