FL: Funky Buddha Expands Distribution to Six New States

Funky Buddha, located in Oakland Park, Fla., is expanding distribution to six new states beginning in January 2018. The brewery's products are heading up the coast to Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Funky Buddha will be introducing its flagship line up: Floridian Hefeweizen, Hop Gun IPA and Pineapple Beach. In addition to six packs, seasonal and limited release beers will also arrive at select retailers in time for the launch. The brewery was purchased by Constellation Brands last August.

TX: Celis Partners With Silver Eagle Distributors

Celis White, a renowned Belgian-style witbier that helped popularize craft beer in the United States, will return to Texas next week. Celis has partnered with Silver Eagle Distributors, Houston's largest wholesaler with a growing portfolio of more than 30 craft brands, and will begin selling four of its beers on draft at a limited number of local bars and restaurants.

Anheuser-Busch InBev Buys Pirate Life

The world's biggest beer company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, has continued its acquisition spree of smaller craft brewers in Australia, this time snapping up the Pirate Life operations in Adelaide. It comes just two months after AB InBev bought Sydney craft beer company 4 Pines, as the global giant accelerates in a craft beer sector that is growing much faster than the stagnant mainstream beer industry. AB InBev already owns the Carlton & United Breweries business in Australia that makes Victoria Bitter and Carlton Draught.

Molson Coors Brewing Company announced that Sergey Yeskov, currently chief sales & customer excellence officer, Molson Coors Canada, has been promoted to the role of president and CEO, Molson Coors International, effective Jan. 1 2018. Study: Amazon on Track to Grab Half of e-Commerce Holiday Sales

It’s shaping up as a record Christmas for Amazon — and it has its Prime members to thank. The online giant is on pace to comprise roughly half of all e-commerce holiday sales made in the United States this year, according to GBH Insights. This is a large piece of the pie with overall e-commerce growth rising roughly 20 percent year-over-year each holiday season. Prime members, a group that is increasing significantly (~40%) year-over-year, are also expected to spend between 20% and 25% more this holiday season than a year ago, the study revealed.

U.S. Consumer Spending Cools; Inflation May Encourage Fed

U.S. consumer spending settled back in October to a still-decent pace after the biggest increase since 2009, as a post-storm surge in auto sales cooled. Incomes remained robust and inflation showed progress toward the Federal Reserve’s goal. Purchases rose 0.3 percent after a revised 0.9 percent advance in September, Commerce Department figures showed. Incomes grew 0.4 percent for a second month, marking the best back-to-back gains since early 2017.
