Throughout NZ Music Month we're reaching back into our vaults to present a selection of Radio with Pictures episodes, the ground-breaking music video programme that first hit our television screens in 1975 and opened our eyes to the world of music outside of hit radio! Catch long time 'RWP' presenter for a special event Karyn Hay Live on Thursday May 31st.

Five flatmates find something growing in their basement much to their delight, but when the rightful owner comes knocking and finds that they have appropriated the goods things start to go awry. Writer and director Rob Sarkies, who chose all the music during the editing of the film, has a few stories to tell. He'll be introducing both screenings.

Hansel & Gretel

Two screenings of this special opera based on the fairy story by the Brothers Grimm. Filmed in 1986 at Trentham Memorial Park with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Wellington City Opera, this is a true home-grown production, commissioned by TVNZ and produced and directed by Coates.

Treasures from the Vaults

Sound archivists, Julian Millar and Sandy Ditchburn will take you through the fascinating history of audio recordings in New Zealand and present a selection of sound treasures from our vaults. You can also get "hands-on" with some sound equipment and tape formats.
