Non content d'avoir dû payer une amende record de 14,7 milliards de dollars au civil pour dédommager  les propriétaires américains de ses véhicules diesels aux moteurs  truqués, Volkswagen pourrait cette fois faire l'objet de poursuites pénales aux Etats-Unis. Les enquêteurs auraient découvert des preuves d'activités criminelles de VW et pourraient décider de lui infliger des pénalités financières.Une solution de compromis est néanmoins possible si le constructeur reconnaît les éléments qui lui sont reprochés et s'engage à ne plus commettre d'infractions similaires. En échange, les autorités renonceraient à le poursuivre au pénal.

Le secteur des gaz industriels, qui ne compte plus que quatre gros acteurs, pourrait connaître une nouvelle phase de concentration. L’allemand Linde susciterait en effet l’intérêt de l’américain Praxair, envoyant l’action du principal concurrent d’Air Liquide sur la première marche du podium des performances de l’indice européen Stoxx 600. Elle a gagné jusqu’à plus de 10% à Francfort quand, à Paris, Air Liquide, l’une des seules hausses du Cac 40, revient sur le seuil des 100 euros. L’an dernier, le français avait mis la main sur Airgas, un autre américain.
