Red Alert for Community Health Centers

OneWorld to participate in #RedAlert4CHCs
movement on Tuesday, Feb. 6

Dear OneWorld supporter,

More than four months ago, Congress failed to extend funding for community health centers like OneWorld. Health centers rely on government funding to provide a comprehensive range of services at affordable prices for vulnerable populations, so Congress’ inaction is putting more than 84,000 patients, more than 1,000 jobs and 44 health center sites at risk in Nebraska.

OneWorld alone faces losing $4,359,626 in federal funds, and if that happens, 40,000 underserved patients from Omaha and its surrounding communities will be at risk of losing access to the affordable health care services they need.

In response, on Tuesday, Feb. 6, OneWorld staff members and other health center advocates nationwide will participate in the national #RedAlert4CHCs movement by wearing red to express that Congress is running out of time. By adding our voices to the #RedAlert4CHCs movement on Tuesday, we hope to capture Congress’ attention and remind them that, without a fix to the Health Center Funding Cliff, patients' lives are at stake.

If you'd like to join us in advocating for community health centers on Feb. 6, you can help us make our case by wearing red and contributing to the dialogue on social media using #RedAlert4CHCs and #FixTheCliff. You can also follow OneWorld on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates throughout the day on Feb. 6.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,

Andrea Skolkin, Chief Executive Officer
