And even though another fake holiday — Cyber Monday — was created as the *chill* e-commerce alternative, every brand worth its salt also hosts an online component on Friday, too. In fact, many of them have already started.

But is it worth it? The answer, honestly, is yes. If you're a retailer, you really have no choice but to participate. The best way to really score big is to be diligent about finding the best sales, and not just settling for the first thing that hits your inbox. The Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping and sales bacchanalia requires some strategizing. A lot of retailers and brands offer deals and free gifts this time of the year, but some are definitely more worthwhile than others.

In the interest of being well, interesting, here's a list that includes some truly incredible bargains, some retailers that carry some of the best beauty gifts, and finally, some up-and-coming or not as well-known brands that are worth checking out. (Because if you're going to try something new, you may as well save some money while you're doing it.)

Sokoglam: This is the OG Korean beauty retailer's biggest sale of the year. Starting at midnight on November 24th through the end of Monday, November 28th, you can get 30% off everything on the site, excluding gift sets. If you spend over $35, you'll get free shipping. If you spend over $75, you'll get a free gift. And if you buy Missha products, you'll get 40% off. (It's a perfect time to try one of the brand's best-loved and most well-known products, the First Treatment Essence.)

GHD: This UK-based hair brand makes some of the best quality hot hair tools on the market. They're a bit pricey, though, so take advantage of 25% off everything (except the Copper Luxe collection) on Friday November 25th only. Go for one of the classic stylers, which allows you to create waves or stick straight styles.

Space NK: Space NK carries many British brands like Eve Lom, James Read, and Rodial that you can't find at a lot of stores here in the US. They also have some beautiful gift sets. W3LL PEOPLE: As more and more new so-called natural makeup brands are hitting the market, it's worth taking a look again at W3ll People, which has been a pioneer in this category and is better than ever. The brand is offering 25% off everything from Black Friday through Cyber Monday. If you buy W3ll People via from Black Friday through Saturday, you can save a whopping 40%. Paula's Choice: The skincare brand beloved by Reddit aficionados is offering 20% off plus free shipping from now until November 28th. If you haven't tried the brand yet, go for the super popular Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant.

Rituals: This European bath and body shop has been slowly making a name for itself in the US. Its products are sophisticated and not too expensive. It's offering 20% off on Black Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Cyber Monday, it will be offering three items for the price of two on its bestsellers. Also, if you spend $75, you'll get a free face cream. The whole Sakura collection is gorgeous.

Make: This beautiful indie makeup company donates 10% of its sales to women-owned businesses. Receive 25% off everything on the website with code SAVE25, and use it to try the brand's coolest product, the Super Matte Lip Pencil, which turns any lipstick matte.

SW Basics: If you like DIY and natural skin care, you have to try this beautiful and affordable brand which lets you mix up your own concoctions and offers pre-mixed versions with a minimum of ingredients . It is offering 20% off site wide from Black Friday through Cyber Monday without a code. If you sign up for the newsletter, you'll get an additional 15% for a total of 35%. (The Hibiscus Mask is a total winner.)

Lafco: This fragrance emporium is a great stop for gifts or for stocking up on things to make your house smell nice for the holidays. Use the code LAFCO2016 to receive 20% off all items online on Friday November 25th until midnight. The Sea & Dune Beach House candle both looks and smells wonderful.

Ulta: Ulta is offering approximately a zillion deals starting online Thanksgiving day at 5pm CST. Check out the full offerings here. Some standouts: a NYX advent calendar that is normally $49.99 for $24.99 and IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara that is normally $24 for $12.

Sephora: Sephora is also offering a long list of deals, which you can check out here, where you will be directed to download the app. Do it. There will be some app-only deals, as well as standard Black Friday bargains. Some highlights: Try a sampler of Milk Makeup products for $25 or a Nest Fragrances travel spray trio for $12.
