It might be a metaphor for the year aheadour annual "Crystal Ball" article shows many execs foresee continued headwinds with staffing and other challenges, but maintain an overall positive outlook.

Now that 2017 has officially come to a close, the senior housing industry is looking ahead to what 2018 may bring.


Welltower Inc. (NYSE: HCN) is set to buy four continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) from Senior Housing Properties Trust (Nasdaq: SNH).
