Presenters Announced for Asian Health Symposium


Have you registered for the 4th Annual Asian Health Symposium on Friday, April 6? This year's topic is In Pursuit of Health & Wellness: Addressing the Impact of Stress in Asian Immigrant Communities, and the following panelists will participate:

  • Anh Vu Sawyer, Southeast Asian Coalition of Massachusetts
  • Pata Suyemoto, Writer, Educator, Mental Health Activist
  • Ed K.S. Wang, Director of Policy and Planning, Chester M. Pierce MD Division of Global Psychiatry at MGH; Assistant Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School; Member, Governor’s Advisory Council on Refugees and Immigrants
  • Cynthia Woo, Director, Pao Arts Center; Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center
  • Albert Yeung, Co-Medical Director and Head of the Behavioral Health Department at South Cove Community Health Center; Director of Primary Care Studies of the Depression Clinical Research Program at MGH

Spring 2018 Training for New & Experienced Mentors


Want to be a more effective research mentor? Join us this spring for two training opportunities for faculty members with mentees preparing for research careers in biomedical, behavioral, clinical, and social sciences:
  • For experienced mentors: Wednesday, March 14, 2:00-4:00PM, 35 Kneeland Street, 8th Floor, Boston (apply by March 1)
  • For new or recent mentors: Thursday, April 12, 9:00-11:00AM, 35 Kneeland Street, 8th Floor, Boston (apply by March 31)
Admission to both sessions is by application only. If you are responsible for mentoring Tufts CTSI’s graduate education program’s fellows (TL1) and scholars (KL2), this is a great opportunity to complete the mentor training recommended every other year.

UMass Hosts Community Engagement and Research Symposium


Interested in forming innovative community partnerships? The UMass Center for Clinical and Translational Science will host its 7th Annual Community Engagement and Research Symposium on Friday, March 9, 8:00AM-3:00PM at UMass Medical School. 

The event will focus on building shared capacity to address health issues in our communities by creating opportunities for people to network, learn about each other’s work and interests, make connections, and plan for future collaborative work. The keynote speaker will be Renée Boynton-Jarret, MD, ScD.

Registration is now open! To reserve your space, please RSVP by February 16.
