Joyce Wells


Joyce Wells, published author, lecturer, teacher, literary consultant, novelist, poet, writer of creative nonfiction, and professional consultant to novelists, started writing in high school.


After a career in business and counseling, she returned to her love of writing and won honorable mention in a Writer's Digest short story contest. Her poems, essays and stories have appeared in such publications as the anthologies At the Edge of Mirror LakeA Century of Writing and Breaking the Silence (2002) and newsletters Feedback (Oakland University Press) and Novelist's Ink. Joyce has also written, The Peace Seekers, a psychic suspense romance novel. Jean Harrington, author of The Barefoot Queen , calls it, "An exciting, highly sensual trip into the uncharted realm of the paranormal."


Joyce is a member of International Women's Writing Guild, Detroit Women Writers and Romance Writers of America, for whom she has judged numerous Golden Hearts contests. She lectures at libraries and bookstores and teaches a local creative writing class titled "Exploring Your Muse," where students explore creative writing techniques, writing from early memory and dream, and image and metaphor.
