Two Yale Student Startups Admitted Into YEI’s Global Social Venture Creation Program
Two student-led startups have been admitted into the Global Social Venture Creation Program—a program offered by the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute (YEI) in collaboration with InnovateHealth Yale and funded in part by two Yale School of Public Health alumni.

Two Student Ventures Win Sobotka Seed Stage Venture Grant
Two promising startups each received $10,000 from this year’s Sobotka Seed Stage Venture Grant, disbursed annually by the Yale Center for Business and the Environment. The first recipient is developing nutritious, plant-based frozen meals. The second recipient leases conventional and electric bikes to companies.
Students Tackle New Haven Health Disparities, Pitch Solutions
InnovateHealth Yale, a School of Public Health program dedicated to using the principles of entrepreneurship to tackle problems in health and education, held its first “Pitch and Solve” event, learning about health disparities in New Haven and developing technological solutions to combat the problems.

Matt Storeygard, Director of Investments at Connecticut Innovations, will be holding weekly office hours at the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute through March to discuss funding opportunities for Yale faculty and researchers. The initiative is a challenge to the Yale College community to think about serious global issues in health, food and water scarcity, climate change and other concerns, and put together a business plan that will address one of those problems and could, one day, could affect a million lives or more. The designation is given to one undergraduate team applying to the YEI Fellowship.
