Tsai CITY featured in Yale Daily News. “I want to support startups, but I think we can also increase Yale’s connectivity to Silicon Valley, New York City, Boston, Chicago and other startup centers,” McLaughlin said. “The other big thing is to take this principle that you can teach innovative skills and entrepreneurial mindsets and apply it to nonprofits, cultural and arts organizations, social justice
organizations and faith-based organizations — whatever Yale students are interested in doing.”
Congrats Ony! Onyeka Obiocha, who works with us in advancing social entrepreneurship initiatives at Yale, has been named the Director of Innovation at Dwight Hall. Ony says: "In my position as Director of Innovation I look forward to leveraging this culture of innovation to develop opportunities for Yale faculty, staff, and students to create a more just world for all.”
SOM Food Startup Expands. Zoni Foods, a startup founded by two Yale School of Management alumni that produces plant-based frozen meal kits, has expanded into four Connecticut stores, and is eyeing expansion into other parts of the Northeast.

CITY is offering two 6-week roundtable programs for select students interested in starting organizations or honing the skills they need to run an organization, called Founders Lab and Leaders Innovation Lab. Over dinner, participants will work on baseline skills and receive expert coaching and opportunities to connect with inspiring Yale alumni founders. Dates: Oct.-Nov. 2017. FUTURE OF FOOD ACCELERATOR. APPLICATIONS DUE SEPT. 23. In this hackathon-style event, Yale students will work in interdisciplinary teams to address the Future of Food in our own backyard. We're working with local New Haven organizations to dig into challenges and develop innovative solutions in the local food system. No food experience is necessary! NEIGHBORHOOD PITCH COMPETITION: DOWNTOWN-WOOSTER SQUARE. APPLICATIONS DUE OCT. 1. Have a $3000 idea to make an impact on Downtown-Wooster Square? Pitch it! For the past three years, the City of New Haven’s Livable City Initiative has devoted funding to
